Blizzardplans to revamp how the end game works in its upcoming actionrole-playing game, Diablo III. Instead of only having the franchisestandard normal to nightmare to hell progression where the challengeincreases and items get better, Blizzard is adding an Inferno settingfor max level players. If your level is at the cap, level 60, monstersin Inferno are at level 61. This way the whole game is challenging allthe way through.
With each difficulty setting, the monsters notonly deal more damage, but become faster and tougher. If theyre fireresistant normally, those resistances are bumped up. Theiraggressiveness is also amplified, and youll find a more varied range ofpowers on special monsters, as well as some that are unique to thehigher difficulty settings.
Each difficulty level in Diablo IIIfeatures unique armor sets as well. Each class will get moreimpressive-looking armor pieces as the difficulty setting is bumped up,similar to the way armor tier sets in World of Warcraft work. Theartisans in the game, NPCs that set up shop in towns to provide servicesto you, will also have unique upgrades and distinct visual appearancesonce you progress beyond the initial difficulty setting.
As youmay know, skill points are gone in Diablo III, and instead skills arecustomized through runes. When you flip the difficulty higher, youllalso come across more powerful runes that amplify the runes basicfunctionality. For instance, if something were to split a projectileinto five pieces, a rune from a higher difficulty will split it intomore. Youll also be able to find new sets of items unique to theInferno mode with distinct visual elements.
