A few months ago Honor (A Subsidiary of Huawei) launched a premium smartphone with the dual-camera setup under their brand, Honor 8. The smartphone packed killer looks & top-of-the-line hardware under its hood, the only issue for most people was the price, Honor 8 was priced at Rs.29,999 (approx $440 USD) in India. Now three months later, the brand is all set to launch a mid-range smartphone with the dual-camera setup in India, which is named Honor 6X. The smartphone is expected to launch by the end of this month and will be priced competitively. The smartphone already made headlines in China, where it was launched initially, it is expected to hold the price tag under Rs.15,000, but it is too early to comment for now.
Honor 6X: Specifications, Pricing & Availability
Honor smartphone are designed well, same goes for Honor 6X, the smartphone carries all-metal build with slightly curved back, which makes holding comfortable. The phone measures 8.2 mm in thickness and weighs around 162 grams. The display is a 5.5" Inch IPS LCD Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and pixel density of 403 ppi. The display is topped with 2.5D curved glass, which gives the display an immersive look. The smartphone packs HiSilicon Kirin 655 chipset, Octa-Core 64-bit processor with Mali-T830MP2 GPU. There is two RAM & Storage options; 3GB RAM & 32GB storage and 4GB RAM & 64GB storage. MicroSD card is supported up to 256GB, but it occupies SIM slot 2.
The main USP of the smartphone is the Dual-Setup Rear camera, which consists of a 12 Megapixel shooter and a 2 Megapixel shooter. The camera features includes Phase-Detection Autofocus, LED Flash and Full HD video shooting capability. The front camera is an 8 Megapixel shooter. Honor 6X runs on Android OS v6.0 Marshmallow with a planned v7.0 Nougat upgrade in future. There is a fingerprint sensor under the Rear camera, a 3.5 mm jack on the top along with IR Blaster and a microUSB port on the bottom, beside the speaker and mic. Honor 6X supports Bluetooth v4.1, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, Fast Battery Charging and Dual SIM cards. The battery under the hood is a 3340 mAh non-removable Li-PO battery.
Price & Availability
Honor 6X smartphone is expected to launch in India in the third week of January, the expected launch price is Rs.15,000, the smartphone is being tagged as SWAG Phone on social media, let's see if the official pricing is able to woo Indian customers.
